Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Tempo Cut (“we”, tempo-cut.com) collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to sign you in and process your media, we don’t sell data, and we don’t run ads or third-party tracking.

What we collect

• Account details from your sign-in provider. When you continue with Google, Spotify or TikTok we receive a unique account ID, your display name and profile picture, and (Google and Spotify only) your email address. With email sign-in we store the address you enter. We request only basic profile scopes: we can’t post, read your library, or see your contacts.
• Session and security data. When you sign in we record the time, your IP address and browser user agent, to keep sessions secure and stop abuse.
• Media you upload. Songs and videos you add are sent to our server to transcribe lyrics, detect beats and cut highlight clips. To transcribe lyrics, a song’s vocals are also sent to Groq (see below). Uploaded files and generated clips are deleted from our server automatically within about two days. Projects and edits live in your browser.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: one that keeps you signed in, and a short-lived one that protects the sign-in redirect. There are no analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you won’t see a cookie banner.

Who processes data for us

• Google, Spotify and TikTok: only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Resend: delivers sign-in emails.
• Pixabay: stock footage searches are passed to Pixabay’s API without your personal details.
• Groq: transcribes lyrics. We first separate the vocals from the song on our own server, then send only that vocal track (or the whole song, if the vocals can’t be separated) to Groq’s speech-to-text service, with no account details attached. Groq handles it under its privacy policy.
• Remotion (our video engine): when you render a video on your own PC, your browser tells Remotion that a render happened on tempo-cut.com, and whether it worked. No video, file names or account details are sent, though like any website Remotion sees your IP address.

Beat detection and clip extraction run on our own server, and your videos never leave it. Song audio is shared only with Groq, only to transcribe lyrics.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while you have an account. Session records expire after 30 days of inactivity. Security logs are kept for up to 180 days. Uploaded media is deleted within about two days.

Your choices

• See and edit your profile and connected sign-in methods on your account page.
• Disconnect a provider at any time, or revoke access from Google, Spotify or TikTok directly.
• Delete your account from the account page. It removes your account, sign-in methods and sessions immediately.
• Ask us for a copy of your data or anything else at hello@tempo-cut.com.

Children

Tempo Cut isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll let signed-in users know.
